It is safe to say our first First Friday event was a handed success! On Friday, October 1, The Tatnall School hosted over 200 friends and families that spread across our campus to enjoy the cool fall weather, music from the Brian LaPann ‘04 Trio, and two delicious food vendors.
On October 1 at 5:30 p.m., as sports were wrapping up, faculty and staff were packing up from a long week, and everyone was starting to wind down for the weekend; our First Friday celebration was buzzing with anticipation and excitement. Guests began to fill the grass surrounding our gorgeous football field. Parents from various classes set up class tables along the walkway to meet and greet other parents while exchanging laughs and conversing about the challenges of having a new ninth-grader or how their senior will get the service hours completed. Meanwhile, many Tatnall students played touch football on the official field, enjoyed any of our many lawn games such as spike ball, corn hole, and giant connect four, or even walked up the hill and swung around on our playground.
As someone new arrived throughout the night, they were greeted with smiles and cheers. This event truly embodied the Tatnall ideology of being “The Family School.” It didn’t matter if you were an engrained and well-known member of the Tatnall community or a brand new face; the feeling of instant inclusion was prevalent.
Did you miss our first First Friday event and want to experience the joy yourself? Have no fear. We have another fun First Friday planned for November 5! We will send more info out to our Tatnall community soon.
