We’re thrilled to celebrate an exciting academic achievement from our Lower School. Fourth grader, Nick C., has been named a winner in the InvestWrite! Delaware Essay Contest.
InvestWrite! is a national writing competition alongside The Stock Market Game, a program that introduces students to the world of investing and personal finance. Through this initiative, students learn how markets work and gain real-life skills in financial literacy, critical thinking, and long-term planning.
Nick’s essay rose to the top among hundreds of submissions from students across Delaware. His thoughtful, creative response on diversified portfolios demonstrated a deep understanding of key financial concepts, including investing strategies, decision-making, and the value of planning for the future. His writing stood out for its clarity, originality, and connection to real-world scenarios.
Now in its 20th year, the InvestWrite! competition has reached nearly 250,000 students nationwide. Designed by teachers and informed by classroom feedback, the program helps students apply what they’ve learned in The Stock Market Game and encourages them to connect classroom knowledge to real-life financial situations.
Nick’s accomplishment highlights the strength of Tatnall’s interdisciplinary approach to learning—one that fosters curiosity, real-world relevance, and excellence at every grade level. We are incredibly proud of Nick for this outstanding recognition and can’t wait to see where his talents take him next.
