Tatnall Girls Basketball

Tatnall 29, Red Lion Christian Academy 13 - Thursday, December 13

Last Thursday the girls basketball team traveled down to Red Lion for a non-conference game. The Hornets came ready to play in the first half, using good ball movement to attack Red Lion's 1-2-2 zone defense. Tatnall was able to work the ball around to get good shots from the high post as well as in the corners. In addition to the efficient offensive output, Tatnall pressured Red Lion into several turnovers with their three quarter court defense. The Lions dribbled into difficult spots on the court where the Hornets took advantage.

Despite a drop in offensive production in the second half, Tatnall was able to win comfortably going away by 16 points. It was a great team victory with a balanced scoring attack with several contributors. The Hornets were paced by Sophie Kirby '22 and Zoe Kashner '23 who each had six points. Aryana Easterling '19 and Emma Kirby '23 each scored five points. Guard and captain Erica Hager '19 provided good ball handling and decision making from the point guard position and also contributed three points. Kali Clayton '23 provided an energetic boost for Tatnall with her tenacious defense while also scoring two points. And lastly, Mia Conkey '23 came off the bench in the fourth quarter to knock down a nice baseline jumper for two points.

It was an excellent team win the Hornets who sit at 2-3 overall going into the holiday break. The girls basketball program plays in a holiday tournament at Lake Forest High School on December 27 and 28. The Hornets play the host school on Thursday, December 27 at 6:00 p.m. Come out and cheer on your Tatnall girls' basketball team.
