The Tatnall Field Hockey team had a strong open on Friday, September 7th against St. Andrew's with a 1-0 win that was earned with 0:52 seconds left in the game. Ashley Marvel '21 scored on a tip-in off a pass by Teryn Singer '22. The squad fought hard in two tough games last week. On Wednesday, September 12th Marvel tied the game against Wilmington Christian at 1-1. Unfortunately, the team eventually fell in in overtime. On Friday, September 14th the Hornets hosted their first home game of the season against rival Tower Hill. The game was dedicated to kids fighting pediatric cancer; Tatnall wore yellow laces and ribbons and raised money for LaceUp4Cancer and Nemours/DuPont. The team fought hard the entire 60 minutes, but couldn't find the back of the cage. Sophomore netminder Carlie McKenry had 22 saves, allowing only three goals. The defense, anchored by Lauren Rosenbaum '19, rose to the occasion in both games to keep Tatnall strong.
