In a battle against conference rival Sanford on the road on Tuesday, April 10th, the game was locked at seven apiece with neither team gaining more than a two goal lead through three quarters. At that point Sanford scored twice in the last quarter to go ahead by two. Tatnall fought back, scoring a goal to pull within one with around a minute left in the game but just couldn’t get another chance to tie up the game. Beau Neff ’19 scored three goals, John Downs ‘18 and Gabe Jensen ‘20 each netted a pair, and Cole Hiller ’19 scored, as well as notching eleven saves. Nate Ruoss ’20 added a pair of assists.
Two days later, St. Andrews jumped out to a 7-1 lead after the first quarter and never looked back. Each team netted three goals in the second quarter. The Hornets outscored the Cardinals 8-4 in the second half to pull within two, but just couldn’t close the gap before time ran out. Tatnall won the last five face-offs and unleashed a fury of shots at the end of the game in again coming up on the short end. Lain Singer ’20 and Brett Wilkinson ‘20 led the team with four goals apiece. Neff ’19 added a pair, and Dante Principe ’20 and Pen Sailer ’20 each tallied as well. Jensen ‘20 had a pair of assists, and Neff ‘19 added one as well. Hiller ‘19 finished the contest with ten saves.
