Tatnall Girls 4X400 Wins at Penn Relays

The Penn Relays is the oldest and largest track and field competition in the United States, hosted annually since April 21, 1895 by the University of Pennsylvania at Franklin Field in Philadelphia.  Tatnall has had a strong presence at this event for many years.  Yesterday, our girls team ran to victory in the Northern Delaware section of the 4x400 meter relay.  The relay team of Kimmi Woods '20, Keelin Hays '19, Lexxie Mathis '18, and Kayla Woods '18 combined for the win in their section.  This is the second consecutive year Tatnall has won this event at the Penn Relays.  Congratulations Tatnall girls!
Senior Captain Kayla Woods was the first long jumper in Tatnall history to qualify for the Penn Relays long jump.  Her performance of 17'11" placed 10th out of 17 girls in this prestigious event.
Tatnall's 4x100 meter relay of Kayla Woods, Kimmi Woods, Lexxie Mathis, and Vanessa Howard won their section of the relay in school record time of 49.07 but was later disqualified due to a zone violation during handoff.  Nonetheless, an impressive effort by all Tatnall girls!
