In February of 2018, Emily Higgins ’33 and her family received the terrible news of Emily being diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma. However, Emily did not let this slow her down. She and her family brought the Pennies for Patients charity to Tatnall, and she became a B+ Hero for the University of Delaware’s UDance Dance Marathon. From that moment, Emily and her mom, Jackie Higgins, have been active members of the Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation.
Most recently, Emily and Jackie were asked to speak at one of the UDance events at the University of Delaware. When Jackie presented this idea to Emily, Emily responded that she wanted to participate in a speaking portion of their presence at the event. While sitting with Jackie, Emily helped write her whole speech, and she spoke and read her speech in front of several hundred UD students. Go, Emily!
