Tatnall Swimming

The Boys and Girls Swim Teams wrapped up their season last week at the Delaware State Swim Meet. The Boys team ended up taking 23rd overall, while the Girls placed 20th.

During the prelims on Wednesday, February 26, the boys swam a little flat. However, Gunnar Light '20, Zac Narimanian '20, Niles Commodore '24, and Briggs Light '22 still managed to have their 200 Medley Relay and 200 Free Relay qualify in the top 16 for finals. At finals on Saturday the 29, the boys team swam with a vengeance. The Medley moved up three places to take 13th, while the 200 Free Relay ended up 15th. It was a great end to the season for all four of our boys competing. Congrats to Gunnar and Zac, who finished their Tatnall Swimming careers at the meet!

The Girls team swam very well at prelims on Thursday, February 27. Caleigh Hoban '20 qualified for finals in the 500 Free with her best time of the season. Amy Hall '20 had her best time of the year in the 100 Free, which was good enough to qualify for the consolation heat of the finals. The 400 Free Relay of Holly Brennan '21, Annika Delport '20, Amy Hall, and Caleigh Hoban had a season best time and swam well enough to come back for finals. The swim of the meet during prelims was the 200 Medley Relay with Holly Brennan, Caleigh Hoban, Annika Delport, and Amy Hall. Annika dropped almost four seconds in her Fly split to lead the Relay to qualify for finals.

At finals on Saturday, Caleigh took 8th in the 500 Free, and Amy took 14th in the 100 Free. The Medley Relay ended up 16th, while the 400 Free Relay was 15th. Congratulations to Caleigh, Amy, and Annika, who all finished up their Tatnall Swim careers with a successful state meet!
