Fall 2019 Sports Wrap Up

Our fall athletic season concluded a week ago, and we have much to celebrate. First, The Tatnall School was recognized for the 5th year in a row by DIAA for our sportsmanship program. We began the season in August with our fall captains attending the first-ever meeting of the Tatnall Athletic Council. This program met twice during the fall to discuss topics regarding sportsmanship and leadership. From middle school to Varsity, our teams competed at a very high level. The middle school level is a time to find the sport you connect with and develop the necessary fundamental skills for future success. We had a student win the middle school cross country race and others scoring their first-ever goals. This is what students remember about their athletic experiences at Tatnall.

We finished the fall on an extremely high note by having two medalists in the Division 2 DIAA state cross country race. Lydia Colasante '23 and Declan McDonnell '21 each finished first in their respective race. Our boys cross country team finished 2nd overall in Division II. Our field hockey team finished first in the DISC conference and were seeded 5th in the DIAA state tournament. Winning their quarterfinal game in double overtime, they advanced to the semi-finals where the team lost to eventual Division II state champion Delmar. We are excited to share our individual All-Conference, All-County, and All-State selections below.
