Tatnall Girls Participate in Explore Engineering Day at DuPont

Submitted by Sharon Kreamer, Science Department Head
Four Tatnall sophomores were selected for and participated in DuPont’s Explore Engineering Day at the DuPont Chestnut Run Facility in Wilmington on Friday, May 2. Explore Engineering Day provides an opportunity for high school girls to explore opportunities for women in STEM fields. The four Tatnall students, Martha Holler, Amanda Janusz, Jane Penn, and Katherine Pupek, joined female sophomore and junior students from across Delaware in this exciting and inspiring event. The students participated in hands-on team activities and interacted with female engineers and scientists. One exercise involved designing circuitry for and building a “dance, dance revolution” dance pad. A panel of DuPont women engineers and scientists with experience ranging from two to 20 years also spoke with the students about their careers in DuPont.
