The Chicken or the Egg...Part Two

Submitted by Amanda Peltz, EC Science Teacher
On Tuesday, the Kindergarten excitedly welcomed Dr. Bernberg back for another visit to the EC Science Lab. This time, she was here to ‘candle’ the chicken eggs. Candling is a method used to determine the growth of a chicken embryo inside an egg. During Science class the week prior, the Kindergarten children learned about candling and were able to share the information they had learned with her. Out of the 12 eggs, we have been incubating, ten eggs have been fertilized and are growing.

With the help of our IT department, the following link will give you a live view of the chicken eggs. Stayed tuned, as the real excitement will begin around May 13 (give or take a day).
