Dear Tatnall Faculty, Parents, Students, Alumni, and Friends:
It is a pleasure to rejoin Tatnall as Interim Head of School. As I prepare to return to campus this Monday, I’ve been reflecting on my prior experience at Tatnall and the remarkable students, faculty, parents, and alumni who embody the school’s rich history of excellence. Tatnall’s culture, ethos, and commitment to its students made a deep and lasting impression on me, and I feel privileged that I am available to work within this community once again.
Throughout my career, I’ve served as Head of School and Interim Head at 14 outstanding independent, college-preparatory schools. Of all of them, Tatnall has been the most distinctive because of the school’s unique mission. Our founder Frances D.S. Tatnall said it best: “Tatnall is not just a school. It’s a way of life.” This extraordinary “way of life” is the result of an environment that encourages students to grow and thrive. By focusing on a balanced curriculum, community values, and diverse student activities, Tatnall prepares students to succeed in whatever path they choose. The school authentically lives its mission each day and, in doing so, has positioned itself as one of the strongest college-preparatory schools in the country.
As Interim Head, I look forward to being inspired once again by Tatnall’s innovative environment, to reconnecting with good friends from my earlier Interim headship, and to forging new relationships. Even more, I look forward to working in support of existing initiatives that will enhance the Tatnall experience while continuing the school’s mission of educational excellence.
