Buildings
Tatnall
is situated on approximately 110 acres in Greenville near Wilmington,
Delaware. The campus consists of four academic buildings: the Myers
Building which houses the preschool and kindergarten classes; the
Sedgely Building for Lower School; the Beekley Building for Middle
and Upper Schools; and the new Laird Performing Arts Center, which was completed in the spring of 2007. It includes a modern
470-seat theater, lobby, dressing rooms, scene shop and multipurpose
room.
Athletics
There
are numerous athletic fields, a quarter-mile track, five tennis courts
and four swimming pools. The campus also includes a hiking trail and
picnic areas. The Beekley and Sedgely buildings each have their own
gymnasium. The Beekley Gym includes a separate wrestling facility and a
state-of-the-art weight and exercise room supervised by a full-time
certified athletic trainer.
Arts
In
addition to the new Laird Performing Arts Center, Tatnall’s arts facilities
include an additional 440-seat theater in the Beekley Building, band and choral rehearsal
rooms, private practice rooms, and a state-of-the-art recording and
computer music studio. All three school buildings include extensive
visual arts resources for work in a variety of two and
three-dimensional media. All four divisions have independent visual art
studios. Recent additions have added professional-level art-related
computer hardware and software for student projects.
